The Studio

A place for students to work on their projects in a creative, fully-equipped environment. Flexible studio rates to get as little, or as much help as you prefer.

Jan’s studio is attached to her home with a 18 ft high atrium with mosaics in the floor and an interior Japanese bridge. A must see! The fence surrounding the property is unique and features mosaics as well. The entryway complete with a unique water feature, 4′ x 6′ “stairs”, mosaics and landscaping – very welcoming. The bonsai collection in the courtyard is delightful.

Rates

Studio Work Space is available to students who would like to go there to work on their projects with or without Jan’s help. Please contact Jan for options and/ or booking time. Fees are as follows:

Basic Studio Use

$5 / hour

Use of the studio space, including use of grinder. Coaching, teaching, advice and assistance are not included.

Basic Studio Use & Use of Tools

$15.00 / hour

Use of the studio space, including cutting, soldering, drafting tools, etc. Coaching, teaching, advice and assistance are not included.

Studio Use & Technical Support

$45.00 /hr

Use of studio space, including ringsaw, came bender, hole drilling, and specialty bits. Technical help included, as is instruction on the tools.

Studio Rates for Jan!

$90.00 / hour

Custom drawing or help to achieve a Master Pattern - Glass selection advise - Private classes here or at your home - ``In home`` advise on design, colours, etc. - Electrical restorations or repairs (plus supplies) - Stained glass restorations, repairs, resizing, etc. (plus supplies) - PLEASE NOTE! - Estimates may or may not be given, depending on the complexity of the work to be done as there may be some surprises! I often adjust the final price at completion if I feel it is too much! Lol!

Note: Minimum studio use is 30 minutes. Use of tools as described above is most welcome, but please be aware that if a tool or tool accessories (blades, etc.) become damaged or broken during your use, replacement charges will apply.

About Jan’s Studio

The Studio

Jan’s Studio is a dream come true, as she can work , create and teach in her home and see her wonderful gardens (another passion), her bonsai (another passion) and her hubby (another passion)!

It has an extensive library of about 800 books, some of which are now out of print, covering all aspects,and categories of glass work. Here the student or client can sit and have a cup of coffee or tea and find the perfect project to work on or an idea for Jan to create from for their custom art work.

Custom Art Glass

Custom Art Glass is wonderful and exciting journey for her clients as well as for Jan. You get total input on design, color, texture, metals and technique used. Some clients just give Jan carte blanche to create for them. She has a gift for going to your home and getting a feel for the design that is uniquely yours.Which ever way is decided, it is a very special experience, with Jan getting and giving hugs and tears upon completion.
